At Cableman, we promote healthy competition. We encourage you to ask your potential system designers/installers the right questions before commencing any project. For example…
1. How many years in business?
Cableman was established in 1995
2. How many employees do they have?
Cableman employs 9 people.
3. Do they do ALL the work or do they use subcontractors?
At cableman all cabling and installations are undertaken by our qualified staff. We sometimes outsource programmers, who work under the supervision of a Cableman employee and have been fully trained, certified and are experienced.
4. Are they a member of CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association)?
Cableman is a proud and active member of CEDIA.
5. Are their cablers/installers certified and registered with the right authorities?
All cableman cablers/installers are certified, registered, trained and qualified.
6. Are their programmers certified and factory approved?
All our designers and programmers have the correct training, experience and factory certifications.
7. Have they done a job like yours before? Can you be taken to see it?
We at Cableman can undoubtedly say yes.
8. Do they have a website?
We have had an operating website for many years and regularly update it with current information.
9. Do they have a fully operational showroom with all the products they are recommending? And can you visit them?
We are proud of our state-of-the-art Showroom in Glenhuntly Road, Glen Huntly and regularly add new and exciting products to test and demonstrate.
10. Do they import or distribute products they are recommending? Or can they provide an unbiased opinion on a wide variety of products?
Cableman are purely designers and installers, we can provide an unbiased opinion on thousands of products.
11. Are there any feature articles on previous installations in Home Theatre/ Automation and Lifestyle magazines from the prospective installer?
At Cableman we are very proud of our many feature articles in some of Australia's largest and most prestigious magazines including Smart House, Sound and Image and others. Feature articles are a great way to gauge the quality of the prospective installers workmanship as no magazine will ever feature an article with poor installation or a dissatisfied client. Additionally, feature articles allow you to see what other clients have achieved in their home and may create more ideas for your own home.
To protect yourself, it is imperative to visit the showroom of the company and look at their website, to find out their strengths and weaknesses. It could mean the difference between a successful installation, enjoyable experience and a nightmare.
12. How do they keep up to date on the latest technologies?
We at Cableman regularly attend trade shows and events both nationally and internationally. Being members of CEDIA and other organisations as well as the leading Australian provider of premium integrated electronic products means that most manufacturers send information on products to us prior to release. Some even send prototypes for evaluation by our installation teams.
